Did I say love? I meant LOVE. I have had it for 4+ years, and although the design has changed slightly, the watch is essentially the same as when I bought it. A few things: 1) I am tough on watches. I break crystals (even the unbreakable ones) like a pro. 2) I'm not a big guy, so some clunky piece of metal would look pretty silly on my wrist. 3) I am forever on the hunt for products that are refined and classy without being feminine, a product that is classic in the sense that I will never tire of it, and a product that will last forever. Boy, did I ever get tired of resetting that dumb calendar every few months. I bought this for the opposite reason some people buy the one similar to this this with the black hands! They buy it because you cannot read the time, which they consider extremely cool, and I bought this because you can easily read the time and it looks really cool. I wanted a high-style easy to read zero fluff watch with no calendar requiring a date setter to break. It's ultra-thin on one's wrist, nice black and stainless color combination goes with almost everything. Not that I'm against gadgets, I'm an electronics engineer and love 'em, but I like stylish minimalist things that do exactly what they're supposed to do, do them very well and with no back-talk, and don't do anything annoying. Even the solar power cells stylistically don't shout at you; they're there if you know what to look for. After 6 months, I'm totally happy about this... I feel like a more powerful man just walking around with this thing on. If you look very close at the dial in a highly bright light you can see the solar panel is a little splotchy, but it isn't normally noticeable and I wouldn't let it stop you from buying this watch. If you have this watch adjusted, (which you will, mine was huge!) take care to have someone who knows what they are doing look at it. I took it to a large professional Jeweler and they didn't replace the mini cylinders that hold the pins in, and only put the pins back in - causing them to fall out almost immediately. Luckily I had some extras on hand from the original sizing and was able to get them replaced. Make sure they do it in front of you, and you'll see the tiny cylinders. |
