5.0 out of 5 stars Great watch!, December 27, 2009
This review is from: Citizen Men's BM8454-93A Eco-Drive Flexible Band Two-Tone Watch (Watch)
Great, fashionable watch.

This watch has luminous hands and dial so you can see the time at night which is not mentioned in the Amazon description.

Band is a flexible band but it is a different type of flexible than the traditional and fits snug but not tight and doesn't pull hairs.

For the money this watch is hard to beat.

I've only had this watch about 3 weeks or so, but I love it. My old Timex battery ran out after just over a year (it was suppose to be a "10 year" battery) and I bit the bullet and got this one. I'll really appreciate it not needing a battery a year from now. There were several Eco Drive models, some cheaper, but I like expansion bands and this one came with one. It costs me $3 at a jeweler to get some links taken out, but didn't notice till I got home that they messed the band up. Had to take it to another jeweler to have a link put in and fix it properly. Note that this band isn't as easy as a cheapo Spandex band to adjust, its a booger (don't try it yourself!) so take it to a good jeweler the first time. The band is very sturdy and should last "forever". As a "senior", I fully expect this watch to outlast me and it's comforting to know it "just works" and I don't have to worry about a battery running out any more. Looks great. My only complaint is that while it does have... Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars I expected a little better durability, January 4, 2012

This review is from: Citizen Men's BM8454-93A Eco-Drive Flexible Band Two-Tone Watch (Watch)
As a physician, I have always purchased a watch with a flexible wristband so that I can quickly remove/replace the watch for the countless handwashings required over the course of a day. Today, nearly 8 months after purchasing this watch, it fell off my wrist, the band broken. I had already become dissatisfied with the watch because the glass face is made of such a soft material that it scratches surprisingly easily. The face of my watch is covered with scratches, even though it spends the vast majority of its time covered with my suit sleeve. It did keep very good time. After previously having a string of disposable Timex watches ($35-40 at WalMart) which would last a year or so, I decided to get a better-quality watch, but this Citizen seems to be no different than my cheap Timex's. The nice thing about the Timex's in fact is that I could get the Indiglo feature which makes reading your watch at night a cinch. The fluorescent hands on this watch are nearly useless unless you hold... Read more
